Regina Spektor’s Cover Song for Kubo and the Two Strings

Moscow-born American Regina Spektor puts her wonderful voice to good use by singing While My Guitar Gently Weeps for the stop-motion feature film Kubo and the Two Strings.

Spektor’s voice accompanies a mix of traditional Japanese and Western musical instruments for the song that features in the film which has proved to be a critical success.

My Guitar Gently Weeps is a cover of a 1968 track by George Harrison from The Beatles’ album The White Album.

Kubo and the Two Strings is about a Japanese boy searching for his late father’s magical suit of armor in a world rife with the supernatural.

The film also features the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Charlize Theron, Ralph Fiennes and George Takei.
