If you haven’t seen it — the film’s hero is an ‘simpleton’ called Forrest Gump who managed to be present at some key moments in modern American history, and despite his personal challenges he managed to lead a successful life.

Forrest Gump is magical, quirky, funny and sentimental.

Tom Hanks won an Oscar for his portrayal as Gump; one of six nods from the Academy — the others were Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects, and Best Film Editing.

Technically brilliant and ground breaking for its time, the Robert Zemeckis directed film was a box office hit that’s still watchable today.
