Bold and Brassy: Skyfall

James Bond 007 theme songs peaked with Skyfall for the film of the same name.

Sung by English singer Adele, the soulful Skyfall was released Oct. 5, 2012 which was the 50th anniversary of first James Bond film Dr. No.

Skyfall went on to win a Golden Globe, a Grammy, an Academy Award plus a swag of other honors.

Adele cowrote Skyfall with producer Paul Epworth while orchestration was by J. A. C. Redford.

The song joins a fine pedigree of awesome Bond themes including Paul McCartney’s Live and Let Die (1973), Sheena Easton’s For Your Eyes Only (1981) and Shirley Bassey’s Goldfinger (1964).

The Daniel Craig-starring film was the 23rd Bond adventure. It earned over a US$ billion at the box office.
