Directed by Anthony Maras the film Hotel Mumbai is based on the real-life terrorist attack that hit parts of the Indian city of the same name in 2009.
Most of the drama featured in the film focuses on events that occurred in the iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel when it was stormed by Islamic terrorists.

At least 174 people died, including nine of the 10 radicalized attackers. Among the dead were 26 foreign nationals. Thirty-one people were killed in the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
The terrorists’ other targets included a Jewish center and a busy railway station.
The film’s ensemble cast includes Dev Patel as a hotel staff member and Armie Hammer playing a well to do architect.
